Biography

Currently the captain of the Australian Davis Cup team, during his ATP career, John won 36 titles, 6 in singles and 30 in doubles, including 7 Grand Slam doubles titles and a career men's doubles Grand Slam. Reaching the World No. 1 doubles ranking in 1991, he was also a member of the Australian Davis Cup team which won in 1986.


Career Highlights

Fitzgerald won 7 Grand Slam Doubles Titles, including twice at the French Open (1986, 1991), US Open (1984, 1991) and Wimbledon (1989 and 1991) and once at the Australian Open (1982)
In 1991, Fitzgerald partnered with Swede Anders Jarryd and won 3 of the 4 Grand Slam doubles titles.
A Davis Cup stalwart, Fitzgerald helped his Australian team to the Cup in 1986, and now captains the team.
He reached the World No. 1 doubles ranking in 1991.
